Bernd, what is your opinion Alt Erlaa social housing of Vienna? Is it a failure? Exclusionary elitism? Successful modernism and equity?
No one cares about this crap, Cássio
Looks really great as commieblock go
First time I hear about this. Apparently in the 70s they built rooftoop swimming pools on commieblocks too.
>>23418 Swimming pools are so fucking overrated.
I remember some TV documentary about this settlement. I like the futuristic look, but I wouldn't want to live in a large block like that.
>>23421 Sames. Imagine having no lawn to mow ...

>>23385 Pic 4 is deffo not from Alt Erlaa. Imo its ugly and luckily built far from the Center but it was a good Scenery for the Movie: "Muttertag". Or was it Am Schöpfwerk and not Alt Erlaa, I dont remember atm but anyways...Muttertag is a great Movie!
Similar vibes to Munich's Olydorf. Which is a rather nice place actually. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic_Village,_Munich
>>23418 There's also an indoor pool.
>>23421 What if the government is allowing you to live there for 3 times less the market price of the rent.
>>23418 Some people consider it the highest quality commie block/social housing in history. Others say it's some elitist hard to get government housing you have to wait forever in line and only politically associated boomers were allowed to live there.
Looks okay, for a commieblock.
It looks like a commieblock after society has collapsed and vegetation has regrown through the city.
Looks abandoned
i like all the greenery
>>23385 Looks very comfy. As a fan of plants and home gardening I like it. if you are unlucky however, you get a neighbor underneath, who does barbecue every day or smokes all the time on the balcony.
>>23524 >he doesn’t like how bbq smells Don’t ever come to Texas
>>23527 The smell of the food is nice, but the smell of smoldering coals isn't.
>>23524 I think making a barbecue in your veranda is forbidden in such buildings.

>>23452 >Others say it's some elitist hard to get government housing you have to wait forever in line and only politically associated boomers were allowed to live there I looked a bit into it (I can read German) and there was nothing I could find about that, where did you read/hear that? This is the most recent article from my resarch: https://archive.is/5tzOt >Immigration has made things messier here, with lots of trash lying around and old furniture being left in public spaces. I would like to see the police patrol more often to ensure safety, and from October onwards there should be checks on fireworks, because the dogs are so poor because they are afraid of them. Apparently sandniggers are ruining it now, sad.
>>23540 I don't remember exactly where I saw this, I'm sorry. There is also a documentary/film about Alterlaa that is very interesting. What I remember reading is that there is a long waiting list for social housing and specially for Alterlaa due to its amenities, and boomers lock young people out of it. Some people claim that not only apartments were designed for families with children, families get a priority, so singles are excluded. Also once you are in you can live there indefinitely no matter your income, you are still getting the subsidy. Some claim that the income threshold to be eligible for social housing is very high, thus it's basically subsiding housing for rich people with public money. Since historically the social Democratic party controlled social housing, there were allegations that people politically connected to it got priority to the social housing, trade union members, etc. I'm sorry for not being able to pinpoint exactly where I read this, I used to be very obsessed about social housing policies on the world and comparing them to Israel - where social housing is barebones-, and this criticism is often offered as a counterpoint to Vienna as a social housing power.
>>23524 very german to have the nerve to complain about neighbors while living in social housing
