Videogames thread. Playing in the sandbox continues until morale improves edition.
EU V comes out on the 5th!! I'll have to try it but I don't think I will buy it, I don't won't to end up spending hundreds on DLC. >>18956 I think the idea was novel but having to fight the same battles over and over again for so little reward isn't good and Empire/Napoleon already exists and has better battles anyway. >/vts/ ??? KC doesn't have such a board. >>19504 FPS has been fine for me but it took a very long time to open the game and when I tried to change graphic settings the game would often freeze. >>19507 No, it just costs a lot so basically if you add it you can;t get achievements or anything like that but I don't care about that(it's a pirated copy anyway).

>>19518 >I don't won't to end up spending hundreds on DLC Lol, just get the fitgirl version
>>19566 you should give something back to the studio tbh >>19518 buy just the base game and pirate the DLCs: problems weren't
I pre ordered the Premium edition, that way I will get the first few DLCs as well.
>>19518 >EU V comes out on the 5th!! I'll have to try it but I don't think I will buy it, I don't won't to end up spending hundreds on DLC. No need, most of the worthwhile content updates will be through mods. If it's anything like EUIV most DLC will be useless if you're playing the game in its best version. As EUV already includes most mechanics from MEIOU&Taxes, I think their mod team is going to do great things with the game.
>>19566 >fitgirl version Горжусь Россией и нашими пиратами !

Hmmm.... EU V isn't bad, yet I don't really want to play it. I played for about 6 hours to get the hang of it but I can't really get too invested in it. I think the issue is that while it is good, it's still EU V(cross imperator and Victoria 3). I have done all this before.
>>19998 Sure you are, gypsy.
>>20157 Go back to Kohl. The guy is 99.9% one of the Russians who can't access KC because it's blocked there.
I am playing Monster Hunter Wilds now.

I am using Sword and shield in Monster Hunter now. I was using bows but while that's good it feels too cowardly so I am using close combat now. They hold the shield in their right hand in this game which annoys me...
very nice game, but Hecate is weirdly muscular

Bernd finished this masterpiece on True Ending yesterday. Still got some stuff to do for 100% and beat last boss again, urgh. Game of the Year, no discussion.

https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/movember-game-stache-charity-bundle-2025 Bought this thing. So far I played Dusk (decent tribute to old time shooters) and currently playing through Gloomwood. Gloomwood really does manage to capture the feel of old """immersive sims""" à la Deus Ex, with a stealth twist. Lots of ways to make your way through the levels, lay down traps and outsmart enemies. Bretty good so far.

>>22179 Play ATS t. plays ATS a lot
>>22182 I really like games where you just drive or travel around. I used to play EVE Online just to be a space trucker. Shame there are so few games that are like that.

>>22196 ETS2 and ATS are fairly big, (I have) no need for more.
>>22255 But for everyone who DOES have that need, there's a literal space trucking, well, STAR trucking, game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2380050/Star_Trucker/ In the demo, I managed to kill myself (on purpose) by leaving the airlock without a space suit. Just to see if the game would let me, and what would happen.
>>22267 I tried that one but idk it didn't work for me. I wasn't a fan of the literal truck in space design either. ETS2 is decent and I played a bunch of that. Otherwise it's only really EVE that managed to give me such feels.
>>22269 Tried the X series? https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/12604/X_Universe__Anniversary_Collection/
>>22276 I haven't though it's been on my radar for a while. mite download then and check it
https://store.ubisoft.com Immortals Fenyx Rising for free until December 2. Sadly, can't provide the exact store page for the game because it defaults to the language and store of the country you are connecting from. Basically it's an even more fantasy version of AC Odyssey
Looking for my next life ruining mmo/arpg game. WoW doesn't do it for me any more and I usually ragequit PoE after getting bored and ripping a couple of times each league. I want to be so addicted that I don't shower or wank and become stick thin. I want to years of my life to pass by as I am stuck in a cycle of grinding and foaming at the mouth for the next update. Does Bernd have any ideas?
>>22935 EVE is the only online game that ever really interested me. I played it a bit earlier this year but it didn't have the same impact it once had though.
>>22935 Daytrading. It has all you are asking for, and in case of failure you can ruin your life ROYALLY.
>>22935 That doesn't sound healthy.
>>22935 The gameplay/setting never really appealed to me. For some reason I mostly read hard scifi but only play fantasy games. >>22937 Seems like daytrading defeats the purpose of neetdom >>22951 It's not. But its what I like to the most, I guess.
May i introduce to you my favorite indie shooter: Easy Red 2 is a WW2 battle simulator like the single player mode in Battlefield 2. Two teams of bots are fighting each other in a conquest like mode and you can pick every side and every role. There is no grind and the only progression are the maps in a campaign. If you play as squad leader you can give orders to your bots like in Enlisted. You can play ego or third person perspective. The game has infantry, tanks and planes. You can play single player or multi player, PvP or PvE(coop) just as you like. The game has a build in map editor and a mission editor with full steam workshop integration. It just reached version 2.0 and gets regular updates. Created by an Italian 3 man studio the game costs 9€ and paid DLCs 6€. Paid and free DLCs have been alternating up to now and together with the mods there is a shitload of content.
>>23145 >game has a build in map editor and a mission editor with full steam workshop integration >free DLCs have been alternating up to now and together with the mods there is a shitload of content why do people do this? I mean not the original developers: their motivation is crystal clear - as to hook up both mod developers and gamers on your platform. but the followers devs - what do they get from creating content for a platform belonging to others? and also even risking diving into a potentially obscure set of skills that nobody will demand in the future?
>>23146 >why do people do this? The map and mission editor aren't that complicated and assets are created in Blender what is industry standard. So i guess that people do it for fun.
Par-tay! This happy fellow is from the free DLC for Assassin's Creed Mirage, Valley of Memory, paid for by the Saudi's dirty money.
>>23620 *Saudis' ?
Finally had the time to play some EU5. Whilst the initial impression was pretty positive, after awhile some cracks begin to show. Obviously, the AI is ass, and it peters out to competely braindead before 1600. But the thing that disappointed me the most is the economy system. 1. Every medieval state is apparently a planned centralised economy where the means of production is entirely owned by the government. You have to build every workshop or manufactory and you get all the profits. 2. Magic money. Since the population and the estate own basically nothing, they just generate money out of the thin air, which you can then tax at the rate of 150%+ 3. Every location has a single rural good. You've got a wheat field? No way to let cows and sheep graze next to it, I guess. Not to mention that somehow the maximum size of the RGO depends on the population and not on the availability of the resourse in the location, like fertile land, or the amount of available ore, or whatever. Basically, what I'm saying is, I want MEIOU&Taxes for EU5
>>23806 I agree. It also means there is way too much micro management.
>>23905 Yes, instead of investing in key industries and infrastructure and leaving the rest to private enterprises you have to do literally everything using the state budget, North Korea style. It's both very tedious for a player and extremely unrealistic for the period.

So I've finally been playing the original Shantae on GBC (emulated) and was pretty underwhelmed. I've heard and read over the years, again and again, "This is this amazing GBC indie game, and it's so good, you gotta play it!" It looks great, that's for sure—great use of color palettes and beautiful sprite work—but a lack of parallax and general line distortion effects; there are older games that do that better. But it kinda ends there. The soundtrack is boring and mostly not fitting the areas, the dance mechanic is, in theory, a cool Zelda-like idea but tedious, the combat is boring, and the controls are flawed, with run requiring an attack in the first place. The harpy has ice physics for some reason, the spider can't run. All the abilities you gather throughout the game also feel like they have one or two purposes, and that's it. Also, zero replay value. I unlocked everything. Well. And there's lots of backtracking, and the structure is always the same: find town, talk to NPC, find dungeon. How has this game developed such a cult following, and there are even more titles, except for the big-tit genie and ass-shaking deviantart porn fantasy? I accidentally made a whole thread but cannot delete it.

I build some buildings. Then I watch. Then I build more buildings.
>>23963 On my wishlist as well, but I'm not sure if it beats Kingdoms Reborn. Yet the latter leaves me mad since an update added EUs final nail in the coffin Merkel.
>>23145 But its only a single player game, if you want multiplayer... i still playing red orchestra 2
I played Little Nightmares I and II a little while back and II especially is such a cosy game. I was excited about III but then I learnt it was being made by a different studio, and they'd switched to being a 2 player game. Then I learnt that the original devs were making some kind of spiritual successor too, but then I learnt even that one is some 2 player thing. I don't have friends and I don't want to play with a dumb AI. Games like that shouldn't be multiplayer anyway, it'll detract from the scariness. Sad!
Someone suggested couch co-op games a few weeks or months ago. I tried It Takes Two, but my gf sucks too bad at such games ;_; I wish the bosses were skippable or single-player-beatable. So, I'm still looking for recommendations.
>>24032 I managed to beat it with mine, and I can hardly believe yours can be worse, unless she's actively hating games. What we usually did was switch. She got the character with the less complicated actions and I did the work.
>>24034 She doesn't hate games, it's just that she didn't grow up anywhere near them, plus she gets a bit nervous under pressure. Like when she has to dodge stuff and do something at the same time. Even stuff like walking/jumping/double jumping/wall jumping doesn't come naturally to here, so it's nice that she immediately respawns if she falls into a pit. Just as a demonstration of how bad she is at video games.
>>24035 Mine can't navigate in 3D spaces and over the entire course of the game didn't manage to understand that can influence the width of your jump by just keeping the stick pushed in the desired direction, leading to many, many deaths from falling into small gaps. I have to say though that she used to enjoy 2D jump'n'runs on the SNES.
>>24037 >didn't manage to understand that can influence the width of your jump by just keeping the stick pushed in the desired direction, leading to many, many deaths from falling into small gaps lel, sounds familiar. Maybe their difference in skill comes down to how they handle the boss fights. She really doesn't enjoy them.
>>24039 >She really doesn't enjoy them. Shame. Nothing worse than understanding the boss mechanics, but not being able to pull it off. Happened to me in Cuphead.
>>24032 Waifu and i had fun with Trine 1-3, LEGO Batman 3 and LEGO Indiana Jones. Investing in XBOX controllers was worth it.
My gf is obsessed with Slay the Spire but I can't get her to play any real time action type game
